Common questions

Spinny says it cannot post in my channel.

In a private channel, invite it first: /invite @Spinny, then run /spinny again.

“Add all channel members” does nothing in a private channel.

Spinny can only read the members of a private channel it has been invited to. Invite it, or pick the players by hand.

Someone I picked was left out of the game.

Deactivated accounts, Slackbot and Spinny itself are removed before the game starts. Other apps’ bots can play.

Can I spin on the web?

Yes. Click “Spin on the web” in the game’s message and sign in with Slack. The result goes back to the same message. Each game can be spun once, in Slack or on the web.

How long are games kept?

90 days, then they are deleted. See the privacy policy.

Can I use it in a direct message?

No. Spinny runs in channels so everyone sees the result.

How many players can join?

From 2 to 100 per game.

How do I remove the app and its data?

Remove it from your workspace’s app settings. We delete the installation and your games as soon as Slack tells us; see the privacy policy.
